Cool! It is hard to squeeze detail into a building that small; but you did it!

Thanks! Yeah, when its resized, it blurs all that hard work together, but this one turned out alright.

It's excellent, but I was going to say that too. I'm sure the glass will be a blander tone in reality.

Just try to reduce saturation and turn it more into green :)

Buck
Sep 22, 2003, 11:35 PM
Jai-C, should I do that to the whole diagram or just to the glass part? If I do it to the whole diagram, would it mess with the colors in the rest of the structure?

Jai-C
Sep 22, 2003, 11:46 PM
just the glass, though the trees could use a little bit more green also.

I have to admit- this one didn't resize very well. Its proportionately resized, but the different color windows (due to curtains, etc.) make it look poor quality and grainy. I'll fix it one day.

I have a few tiny Atlanta drawings I need to add.

Buck
Oct 3, 2003, 12:55 AM
Thanks, Justin. ;)

Me too- but thats not unusual. Ever since my first drawing I've always planned on more Atlanta buildings. Its a constant work in progress. And if you check my profile page, you will see that 191 is still atop my list. I will get around to finishing it soon...I hope.

I'm not releasing mine until you release yours. j/k :D

Anyways, I am going to be completely redoing the Westin as well (you know why...). I was wondering - should include Macy's in the base? Because, technically, it IS part of the building according to the Westin.

Buck
Oct 3, 2003, 1:03 AM
nah, its not part of the building. Macy's is extra special though. :)

Buck, it's good, but the upper window divisions never appear like that, and overall the window columns are much smoother and more uniform. Also, the base is a little off, there's a thicker beam a about two floors up on the right angled side of the drawing.

Maybe this helps? There aren't many photos of the building for some reason...

Buck
Oct 8, 2003, 10:36 PM
Thanks Eli. I'll fix it right quick. That picture helps a ton! You're right- there aren't too many to be found. Which is quite strange...

Buck

Buck, these last two are a bit too wide. These two buildings, are something you have to draw in a 1:2 scale since their bracings are less than a meter thick. I had plans to fix both of these, but I couldn't find a good photo of the top and base of One Shell Plaza. I am going to fix my 3000 Town Center, though.

Good drawings, though.

Buck
Nov 9, 2003, 6:59 PM
I did draw them at 2:1. I don't feel that 1 Shell Square is too wide. It is diagonal and so it will appear wider than it is. I will make 3000 Town Center a little less wide.

Buck
Nov 9, 2003, 7:05 PM
1 Shell may be a few pixels too wide upon second thought...I'll tweak it.

LMich
Nov 9, 2003, 7:44 PM
Yeah, look at these photos, the width between each vertical beam is at most only 1 meter, so the windows at most, even on the widest side should only be one pixel. Are you sure you drew this is 1:2? It looks like 1:1. This tower is pretty thin.

Gulcrapek
Dec 4, 2003, 12:07 AM
I think the base was different, with a different entrance and stuff... the tower is great. A little more 'shimmer' would be better but I have no idea how to do that.

Buck
Dec 4, 2003, 12:12 AM
I don't know how to get it more shimmered either, thats the most shimmer I know how to give it, but thanks. The base was tricky, I only had a small, poor quality rendering that didn't even show the entrance and the bottom part of the base. So I improvised.

I'm pretty happy over all. When I find things to fix and the resources to aid me in fixing it, I will.

Actually, the base is a little taller than the other floors, like in my drawing, which didn't resize too well at all.

BTW, why can't I see any of the diagrams here? I mean, there isn't even red X's or anything, there is literally nothing on my browser. I did see it in the pending diagram, though.
