An Oregon hotel was named as one of the best in the world by readers of Travel & Leisure magazine.
Tu Tu Tun Lodge in Gold Beach ranked 17 out of 100 of the world's best hotels and No. 1 best in the United States and Canada. The hotel ranked last year as the 74th best in the world and 16th in the United States and Canada.
Columbia Gorge Hotel in Hood River ranked No. 19 in the best in the United States and Canada, out of 100. It was not ranked last year.
The No. 1 hotel in the world is Oberoi Udaivilas in Udaipur, India.
Travel & Leisure readers also named Alaska Airlines as the No. 8 best domestic airline; it held the same rank last year. Horizon Air, also owned by Seattle-based Alaska Air Group Inc. (NYSE: ALK), fell to No. 10 on the list this year from its No. 9 ranking last year. Midwest Airlines was ranked No. 1 best domestic airline this year.
