Looks more vibrant than all but a handful of U.S. cities...

You have a reputation for excellent urban grit photos, flar... but this proves that you are also capable of creating such seriously beautiful compositions.

The last Hamilton skyline shot... the Toronto skyline shots... the dude in the 2nd photo and the first steel mill pics are my faves...

and this is the most badass mural ever:

wow...amazing flar.
couple questions/observations:

- a new cafe opened on concession near the new condo tower?? have to check it out.
- what is the 5 storey building that is being completely gutted??
- where did you get the pics in Durand? a friends apartment?

great pics

Combination of Toronto having a huge skyline and the scrunched perspective of a telephoto lens ;)

wow...amazing flar.

-The 5 storey building is Henderson Hospital being demolished so they can build the new Juravinski Health Centre.

-The pics from Durand are from the rooftop patio of the Conservatory for the Arts. That was at Doors Open Hamilton--Steeltown and Miketoronto were there too.

love seeing shots of my house in threads!

Looks good and I love the photos from up on the hills, but the skyline is looking a bit dated, almost looks like a small Brazilian city skyline. Are there any new modern towers that will start to make a statement on the skyline coming up?? Some renders would be great...

I don't know for some reason I was expecting more from Hamilton. I mean the really old architecture is great of course but everything else is very bland and just well... not inspiring. Does anyone else feel this way? Looks to me like the Hammer needs some fresh buildings.

It’s difficult to have a nice modern skyline when this city across the lake is a powerhouse in Ontario…..

Hamilton is Canada's little part of the Rust Belt, so it is a bit dated. Most of those buildings were built in the 60s and 70s. Aside from a few residential buildings, the last skyscrapers built in Hamilton were the Commerce Place twin towers in 1990, which aren't tall enough to make a statement. There are some rumbings about a signature building, but no firm proposals yet. (BTW, this is not the first time I've heard Hamilton's skyline compared to that of Brazilian city).

Everyone: Thanks for looking!

The skyline is dated but dense. A couple more talls and its a great skyline.

HA Hamilton had and still has a big mafia connection, "mafia mecca". Musitano and Papalia are the popular mafia in Hamilton, they fight against each other, some have been killed.

Recently the Musitano brothers got released from prison, they killed Johnny Papalia in 1997, so the Musitano are back in town. The mother Judy Musitano runs each time for the downtown councilor job, losses each time.
