Mimicking the thread in Western Provinces, but hopefully without any this v. that (yeah right!),
My three favourites:
Quetico Provincial Park: a fantastic backcountry canoe park. Far superior to Algonquin.
http://www.ontarioparks.com/ENGLISH/quet-mainImage.jpg
Rocher Fendu Rapids on the Ottawa River: I recently got hooked on whitewater kayaking, and these are its mecca, possibly even for the world.
http://www.ottawakayak.com/db_img/large/minibus%20086.jpg
Gatineau Park: this was my families oasis when we lived in Ottawa.
http://graphicslib.viator.com/graphicslib/3400/SITours/fall_foliage.jpg
Future destinations: Lady Evelyn-Smoothwater Provincial Park (Temagami) - canoeing, Nahanni National Park Reserve - canoeing, Gros Morne National Park - hiking, Horton River - canoeing, Hwy ?? west of Bella Coola, BC - driving.

I'm afraid not. That's only a future destination. Somewhere I really really want to go.

Nice photos, 10 minutes? Are you from Port Blandford, Charlottetown, Bunyans Cove, etc.??? I spent most of my life living in Glovertown, the park stops where the town starts

Not my pictures.
I lived in Clarenville from grade 4-6. Almost 15 years ago now, but it didn't seem like more than 10 minutes to the southern edge. Maybe 20. I couldn't imagine growing up in a better place for that age.

Explore Magazine last year did a 50 best outdoor places in Canada issue (damn, my wife threw it out...I would've posted the list), and it was a good list - minus the fact Manitoba was completely ignored.
The number one spot was Mount Thor in Auyuittuq National Park. The Earth's greatest vertical drop...some 1100 more than El Capitan.

Manitoba........ignored.............what else is new? It is definately an UNDERRATED province by the rest of Canada. So much opportunity for outdoor recreation. With so many lakes and rivers to explore, and still so much virgin forest that hasn't been manhandled by the industrual world, my mouth is watering right now:D White water rafting down rugged pristine rivers, canoeing in the multitude of lakes, kicking it at Grand Beach, Falcon Lake, Winnipeg Beach, Gimli, Patricia Beach, Victoria Beach, West Hawk Lake on a hot sultry summer day (these are just the tip of the iceburg for beaches in Manitoba mind you); hiking in Whiteshell Provincial Park, Spruce Woods (home of the Spirit Sands); vista views from Riding Mountain Nat. Park, and sooooooooooooooooooooo much more. Knee Lake is just one of our world renoun fishing lodges where world class pickeral, jack and lake trout can be caught. Yeah, that is the spot.
Also Norhwestern Ontario too is gorgeous. Kenora harborfront on Lake of the Woods, Lake Malachi, Kakabeka Falls (sp?), and again soooooooooooooo much more. Hands down my favorite spot on Planet Earth

^They had NW Ontario on the list. The list was actually quite good - and left out a lot of the popular spots close to the major centres (in other words, I don't believe Whistler or Lake Louise was on it). It made me realize how much of the country most don't see...Mount Thor being the #1 spot is probably the first example of that.
I was disappointed too that MB was left off - there are some amazing spots in that province for sure.
I wish I could find that magazine, so I could post the list!

Quebec really does have some unappreciated scenery. I haven't yet had the opportunity, but I'd love to spend a week or two canoeing in La Verendrye Wildlife Reserve.
http://www.serianni.com/misc2.jpg
Someone mentioned the Bruce Peninsula and I somewhat regret not including it in my first post. Living part-time in Wiarton, I've had lots of access to it. The Bruce Trail through the Bruce Peninsula has got to be one of the most spectacular hiking trails in Ontario anyway, and I'm sure in Canada as well.
