Man I tell ya, that is one boring airport. It is either Southwest or ATA with an occasional sprinking of NW/AirTran/Frontier/Etc. Waiting for a connection is no fun.

Oh, Midway. The one time I flew out of there, it wasn't on Southwest.

I thought SWA bought ATA's assets there...aren't they an ATA shareholder or something?

I remember taking an SWA/ATA codeshare flight from AUS-EWR. First leg on SWA, second on ATA. Thought it was pretty nice except for the Midway connection. Too bad ATA pulled out of EWR though.

What's wrong with Midway?? I mean it isn't super glam, but geez, the new terminal and gates are so much better than the old Midway, which by the early 1990's resembled a bus line terminal / transfer point in a third tier city.

Nothing really wrong with it except it's boring from a plane spotters/watchers point of view. My connection between SWA and ATA was crappy because of the distance between the gates but otherwise it was fine.

I flew into Midway a few days before Christmas last year and I thought it was a decent airport... though departing back to Houston on January 2nd sucked! I was stuck waiting outside for nearly a half hour just to check my luggage, then further waiting to get through security. Definitely the longest wait I've had in a very long time at any airports (e.g. - IAH, HOU, DTW, ORD, SEA).
