View Full Version : Grit in Wilmington, DE

Here are some pictures of Wilmington grit. These pictures are from all over areas of the city, but many come from the usual neighborhoods: the East Side, Price Run, Southbridge, and the undeveloped areas of the Riverfront.

These pictures show that Wilmington can be as gritty as your stereotypical grit cities like New York City, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Baltimore, Cleveland, or Detroit. Of course, Wilmington also has the character, history, and architecture of cities like these as well.

I'll close the thread with a skyline picture from near the Port of Wilmington.

I hear this is a nice city to visit.

This photo looks exciting. Hopefully the construction/renovation will include the pair of beautiful old buildings.

It looks like one of the hoods I drove through when I was in Wilmington a couple of years ago. Kind of surprised me, and I didn't take any pics of the street I was on, the fellas hanging there didn't look like they wanted to be posted on the net.:gtfo2: ;)

Nice pics, Matt

It is really hard to take pics in the ghettos in this city because there are always people outside the houses, which isn't a good idea if you cherish your health and your belongings.

This is one picture of 5th and "Get Down" from last year. All my other pics are blurred from me trying to take pictures fast enough not to let people notice me doing it.

Sorry for jacking your thread ;)

No problem Joe. Is that in Quaker Hill? I remember getting chased down the street one time while taking photos. It's not a safe neighborhood at all.

These buildings are located next to a new office building being constructed. I believe these two old warehouses will be renovated. The surrounding land will be turned into a park.

I wonder what's worth more? Sorry but if you live on that block but are driving around in a Beamer or a Caddy that's just retarded if you ask me. That's just me though.

I'm surprised to see this thread brought back to life.

Such is the life of a drug dealer.

Some of those are scary as hell, quite a contrast from some of the other Wilmington downtown & neighborhood threads.
