I don't have a photo of my current residence. My father and I live in a single-family home (c.1984) in the Ottawan suburbs, and although I don't need to pay rent, I'm not very happy with my current living situation. While the 'burbs may be a riot for young sprawling families, they're no fun for twentysomething single students. Next time you're looking to meet a nice girl, try the pick-up line "I live in exurbia with my father!" It never fails.
That said, when I escape to graduate school next year I would love to live in a dwelling not dissimilar to yours, KT. That's a real beauty of a building in an enviable neighbourhood, too!

Furry - that is a very nice looking house...and an awesome location!
We bought a turn-of-the-millenium home (1999-2000 :-), way, way, way out in the burbs of Calgary (Somerset).

Sweet, I like that house. Is it one of those Eaton Catalouge Houses? I know winnipeg and Edmonton got a lot of those, but I'm not sure they date back to the late 1800's... I know they were popular in 1920's...
In any case, everyone here has nice pads :D

i'll take a pic of the house tomorrow, but this is my street:
in how many cities can you buy a house on a street like that (top), in a neighbourhood like that (bottom), 5 minutes from downtown and 14 houses from a billionairres house (izzy asper before he died), which was on the most prestigious street in the city and pay less than $100k?
this was 4 years ago...it would cost a lot more now.

EDIT: As a description of my community, well... it caters to the upper middle class. Lawyers, Doctors, owners of development and construction companies as well as the executive staff of oil and gas companies all live in this community. There are two houses at the end of the street that are approximately twice the physical size of ours. :S
The upper class don't live in communities like this. They live either on highly-valued land in the inner city in communities like Britannia, or out in the countryside far beyond city limits on massive estates.

furry, nice house. i've always loved the craftman style.
when i lived in calgary i had a crush on this house in your neighbourhood at the corner of 17th avenue and some street whose number i forget. it's a greenish colour, two stories, kind of queen anne style, with a low stone retaining wall around the property. it was kind of in rough shape but looked very cosy.

Definitely not the most attractive looking highrise in Winnipeg..but inside, it makes for some really neat suite designs (lots of angles, not the typical box) Built in 87. Has a grocery store on the bottom which is really convenient.

http://internationalmetropolis.com/images/2006//1019b.jpg
It's in downtown Windsor, bought it with my wife (then girlfriend) in 2001 for a song.
It was built in 1891 by Charles R. Cole who was a City Alderman and also the Water Comissioner. It is a designated property in the City of Windsor.
It went through a rough patch as a rooming house from about 1955-1978, when the whole neighborhood pooped out.

A house built in 1958 in the Lynnwood neighbourhood of Edmonton. When I go out my front door, look right and I see a trio of skyscrapers. Walk across the alley and onto the artery and I can see the tips of the University.
I live in my parent's basement. This place will eventually need to be torn down and rebuilt, but I think it might be torn down to make way for the WLRT expansion.

No hes 6 blocks east of me. I think too many of us Edmonton forumers live near each other.

my dwelling is a condo, on both the 3rd and the 4th (top) floors of this 2004-built 6-unit building in the Verdun borough of Montreal
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/98/377217409_78b4ffd340_b.jpg
it's on this little out-of-the way street,
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/181/377228815_19b4844919_b.jpg
which is not all that out of the way as it is a 10 minute walk to the metro, and less than a 10 minute subway ride into to the heart of downtown, which one can see here, from my back balcony:

out back, I also see this:

and this:

a little less interesting, out front I see this:

this:

and this:

despite the proximity of the expressway, however, it is really not very noisy out front. and in back (and indoors) we hear nothing
