ARIA Restaurants page updated:

http://www.arialasvegas.com/amenities/restaurants.aspx

Seperated into fine dining and casual dining.

Casual Dining

Lemongrass, the Thai restaurant, is listed as casual dining with Satay Bar and cocktails.

Breeze Cafe is the poolside cafe on the Promenade Level.

Sweet Chill is a dessert with ice cream, gelato, sorbets and espresso.

The Roasted Bean is a coffee house on the Casino floor near the Tram.

Fine Dining

Union Restaurant and Lounge is an American dim sum concept on the Casino floor. Sounds interesting.

Blossom includes a chinese garden-like environment near the Baccarat tables.

Looks like everything is pretty well laid out.

Are we even sure the red fins are "in" any units? They may just be the ends of the hallways, with units on both sides. Just guessing.

And I just remembered, they're Time-share condos, so I guess nobody "owns" them.

Any building on the strip that goes below grade more than 15' has dewatering pumps... lots of underground water on the strip. Funny thing is projects like FB, Echelon, and St Regis are probably running pumps and nothing is going on... shut them off and make it a water park!

Reading about The Harmon is a little sad.

http://www.fosterandpartners.com/Projects/1385/Default.aspx

The ultimate luxury getaway, the Harmon Hotel is a non-gaming hotel that forms a striking gateway to the MGM Project in Las Vegas. Fronting the Strip at the corner of Harmon Avenue, it will be one of the tallest buildings on this famed Las Vegas boulevard. Defined by a dynamic curving façade, it has a strong visual presence and provides ample opportunity for sweeping views along the Strip, up Harmon Avenue and back to the Bellagio Fountains – becoming literally a window on the city. Accessed via a geometric pedestrian bridge over Harmon Avenue, its shimmering façade is animated at night with a dazzling lighting scheme.

The hotel and condominium elements are arranged within the tower that is expressed as a single element and is separated from the hotel facilities by a dynamic vertical slot that forms part of the Hotel and Condominium lobby. From within this lively space the visitor will be able to gain access to the hotel and its unique facilities, which include destination restaurants and shops, a state of the art conference suite, and a luxurious spa and south facing pool deck, positioned on an adjacent podium building some 80 feet above the Strip. The pool deck will not only be a place to relax during the day, but will come alive at night for events and parties.

Challenging the accepted rules of hotel design, the Harmon Hotel is conceived by an innovative and inspired client, Andrew Sasson of The Light Group, and will push the boundaries of the hospitality industry to new limits with a design strategy that combines a sleek, modern exterior with a highly luxurious interior.

Interested to see this "dazzling lighting scheme" though.

Are the buildings between the citycenter and the Bellagio apart of the city center? I cant get info on them on the city center website, but they look to be a similar design as the rest of the city center?

No, that is the Cosmopolitan. It is owned by Duetche bank and right now we can't decide on what the hell is going on with it.

Aria Property Map: Casino Level

I really like the layout. Registraton near the front of the property, close access to guest elevators. A cluster of restaurants by the registration is a nice touch, as is the patisserie and Bar Moderno right by the Guest Elevators - a little bit like the large bar right in front of the Encore elevators.

The casino layout looks great - clear pathways that lead directly to the back of the property to either the Guest Elevators or the Promenade. Also, nearly all restaurants around the edge of the property for natural light and patio seating is excellent.

My favorite has to be the seclusion of the Sky Suites. The section is genius. Private entrance to Sky Suite elevators with Baccarat, high-end retail and Asian restaurants all in one semi-private corner for the whales.

Another thoughtful design is Haze, which is close to the North Valet entrance and underground to keep the lines, crowd and noise away from practically everything else.

Also, you can get to anything without having to step one foot in the casino.

After about two looks at this map I already know my way around. Great design.

The fountain actually did some cool stuff, but what I got was pretty much the 'title screen' of the show it put on. From what I saw it reflects light all over the complex, but mostly Aria.

Amazing pics, thanks! Man that sneak peak of the inside of Crystals is killing me. I can already see the tree house looks near exact to the concept drawings.

So... I guess it's a good time to ask- who will be attending the Grand Opening of Aria? I booked my rooms and flights... Vdara ended up sold out (missed it) but they booked us in the Spa Tower at Bellagio for the 15th. Moving into Aria the 16th and 17th!

I absolutley love this part of the timeline prior to opening. There are so many factors which must fall into place!

I'm arriving on the 15th, they offered us $99/night at the Bellagio. I will be at the grand opening on the 16th and will post pictures as soon as I can, late that evening. Want to meet up for a cocktail? Hopefully still closing on Veer condo in February.

Oops- my dates are off... I'm at Bellagio the 16th (Grand Opening Night) and moving into Aria the 17th and 18th... Would definitely like to arrange a meet up for all those who would like to attend? After all, this may be the last opportunity for a meet at a grand opening for quite a while...

By chance- if one wanted to pursue staying at Aria on the 16th, (Invited Guest Only?) how does one get on that list?

It's my understanding that Dec 16th is the grand opening party only, no one yet staying in Aria's rooms until the 17th.

Oh wow- then perhaps those of us staying in the hotel on the 17th will be staying in a brand new Aria room! I would have assumed that they would have invited only guests (celebrities, media, etc) fill the rooms on grand opening night (the 16th..?) I know this has been done in the past at other resort openings.

Does anyone have a schedule of events for the 16th? I'm wondering what time they plan on opening Aria (assuming midnight Wednesday) and what type of events they are planning. Exciting times!

According to my schedule of events, there are fireworks scheduled for 11pm on the 16th with the public opening at 11:30pm.

There's a party preceding, starting at 8pm for invited guests.

Maybe I'll just pull a "Michaele and Tareq Salahi" and crash the 8pm party...

Caught the Build It Bigger: CityCenter special on the Science Channel last night.

They highlighted a lot of the complexity of Veer Towers which was incredible. The elevator core is the only part of the building that is plum and acts as the spine of the building. If the core was built even 1 degree off it would compromise the entire building.

All the pillars lean at a 4.63 degree angle in two directions that move away from the core.

Aria is two opposite interlocking "Cs" that share the elevator core right at the center, creating four not-so-lengthy hallways of rooms. The hotel couldn't surpass a 600ft height restriction and Aria's design was the result of a competition among architects.
