Brownsville is a border town located at the very southern tip of Texas on the Rio Grande, at the Mexico border, about 20 miles inland from the Gulf of Mexico.
The city is a large trading center for the livestock and agricultural industries. It is also a crossroads and a center of air, rail, and highway transportation.
