Almere is a fast growing city in the central of the Netherlands, in Zuid-Flevoland, which is a polder reclaimed from the IJsselmeer. It was named after the old lake. The first houses were ready in 1976. In 2006 Almere celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Recently the number of highrises in Almere is increasing.
