Academician Vernadsky Station was previously owned by the UK, and was called "Faraday". The possession and management of the station by Ukraine has started on February 6, 1996.
Academician Vernadsky Statin is an all year round station.
Winter Populaqtion - 24
Summer Population - 12
Main Purpose - research (oceanic, Earth magnetic field, earthquake, etc.)
The station runs own radio station.
