Kiruna is the northernmost city of Sweden, located 145 km north of the Arctic Cirle, and also the biggest municipality in the country, and the second largest municipality in the world - at 19446 square kilometers it is almost the same size as half of Switzerland.
Iron ore extraction is the most important industry in Kiruna, and the city is very dependent on the mining company LKAB.
