The City of Cairnes is the central Local Government Area of Metropolitan Cairns, Australia's 14th larges metropolitan area, and 15th largest urban centre.
The city, located on the east coast of Cape York Peninsula on a coastal strip between the Coral Sea and the Great Dividing Range, was formed in 1995 with the consolidation of City of Cairns and the shire of Mulgrave.
