Johnstown

Founded in the early 1800’s and incorporated as a city in 1889, Johnstown is one of America’s historic industrial cities. The city is the seat of Cambria County and much of it's economic growth rested on the steel and railroad industry.

On June 1,1889, Americans woke to the news that Johnstown, PA had been devastated by the worst flood in the Nation's history. Over 2,200 were dead, with many more homeless.

Johnstown is also well known for it’s Inclined Plane. Thousands of visitors from around the world have visited what is billed by the Guinness Book of Records as, "The steepest vehicular inclined plane in the world."
