Tucson

Tucson is Arizona's second largest city, and the seat of Pima County, with a metropolitan area population just under a million as of the 2006 Census Bureau estimate. Located 60 miles noth of the United States-Mexico border, the city sits on an alluvial plain in the Sonoran Desert along the Santa Cruz River, which is dry most of the year.

Tucson's economy is based heavily on the University of Arizona located in the city, and the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Tourism is another major industry for the city.
