Den Helder is a municipality that occupies the most northern end of the Noord-Holland peninsula. It consists of the cities of Den Helder, Huisduinen, Julianadorp, and the hamlets Friese Buurt and De Kooy. Den Helder is the main base for the Koninklijke Marine (Royal Netherlands Navy).
