Description Architect: Foster & Partners
Located in the heart of the City of London, on the site of the former Baltic Exchange, the Tower was designed to provide 1.5 million square feet, including dealing floors, apartments, shops, restaurants and gardens. At 92 storeys and rising to 1,265 feet, it was Europe's tallest projected building.
When the client decided to sell the site it was bought by Swiss Re. They commissioned Foster & Partners to create 30 St. Mary Axe - http://www.skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=3623
