Bing Thom proposed this 600 foot design in 2002 as his vision for the Hotel Georgia addition.
This design has what Bing Thom referred to as a finger at the top of the building which projected above the height limit over downtown imposed by the view corridor towards the mountains from City Hall.
A shorter tower of similar design was being proposed by Allied Holdings - http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=2886
