It is rumored that the architect copied the design for the Voortrekker Monument from an antique radio
The Voortreker Monument was built in 1949 to commemorate the Voortrekers, who were the first Europeans to go into the interior of South Africa.
There is a controversy about this monument, some see it was an important memorial for Afrikanerdom, while others view it as a reminder of the Apartheid
