Description Often said to be the greatest victory by local preservationists; demolition began in 1980, but ended with the preservation of the last two historic buildings on this site. Unfortunately, one of those two buildings was lost to roof damage in 2003. This preservation victory was a defeat for a new speculative office building at this location and an attempt at a new state's tallest building.
