Description Architect: Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP
- During the September 11th 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the building was badly damaged, mostly due to the collapse of the 7 World Trade Center, across the street. The collapse shattered most of the windows on the southern facade and debris poured into the atrium.
- Due to the damage the building was closed down from September 11, 2001 to July 12, 2002 when it reopened.
