Description • In the 1980s the South Korean government built a 98.4 m tall pole with flag of South Korea in Daeseong-dong. The North Korean government responded by building a taller one, 160 m tall the Panmunjom flagpole http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=43430 with flag of North Korea only 1.2 km west of the border with South Korea, in what some have called the "flagpole war".
