Structural Engineer: Flack and Kurtz Australia
Builder: Multiplex Construction (NSW)
- Development Cost: $1.2 Billion
Construction Cost: $425 Million
- Chifley Square is one of the most prestigious office and retail complexes in Australia. Located at a prime position on Macquarie Street, providing tenants with breathtaking views across Sydney Harbour.
- Built to counteract the tower swaying in high winds, a giant steel block pendulum weighing 400 tonnes is suspended from eight 75mm diameter steel wires located near the top floor. This is connected to a hydraulic dampened gravity system, thus stabilizing the building in high winds.
- The Exclusive 'Level 41' restaurant is situated 185m above street level in Chifley Tower.
