Bentall 5 is being constructed in two phases. The first phase, finished in 2002, is a 22 floor office building. The second phase, begun in summer 2005, will see 13 additional office floors built on top of the first phase, for a total of 35 floors. The height of the first phase at completion is 96 meters. The height of phase two will be 141 meters. Originally, the height for phase two has been planned at 152 meters. The foundation was built in the early 1990s, when there was a different design for the tower.
Gross floor area of phase 1 is 31,586 m².
