- As well as housing the School for Fine & Performing Arts, the building also houses the Communications Production Center for Detroit Public Television, the local PBS affiliate, and a new radio facility for WDTR FM, the Detroit Public Schools radio station.
- Part of the buildings roof was designed as a "green" roof, and is certified with the U.S. Green Building Council.
