Description - This general hospital was officially opened by Queen Juliana on June 21th 1976, although patients were already hospitalized since fall 1975. It was one of the most modern hospitals in Europe at the time.
- Slotervaartziekenhuis became in 2006 the first privatized hospital in the Netherlands.
- In 1996 a pyramid-shaped sculpture was placed on the roof. It was a design by artist P.H. Stulemeyer.
- The building footprint has the shape of a swastika.
