- On 21st of September 1999, still under construction, it suffered no damage when a 7.3 earthquake rocked Taiwan.
- In 2000 the construction was on-hold because financial crises, even almost near completation.
- Upon its completation, it was the tallest building in Taichung, replacing Golden Plaza.
- It says the design inspiration of it comes from the Chinese culture, which reproduces the shape of a fish looking towards the east.
