Construction ordered by the King Felipe II of Spain, The first stone was placed in 1558, dedicated to the Asumption of the Blessed Mary ever Virgin in 1618, Consecration on October 12th of 1716, Destroyed by the earthquake of 1818, rebuilt on 1875
