Martin Hall (now the Department of Anthropology building) Started in 1905 and completed in 1906, the building was built with hard-made red bricks and concrete as ground. It was named Martin Hall to honor Henry Martin of Cincinnati, US who donated to Lingnan School, the predecessor of Lingnan University. Dr. Sun Yat-sen visited Lingnan School on May 3, 1912 and delivered a speech entitled "No learning, no success in constructing" and had photo taken with the faculty and staff and students in front of Martin Hall.
