Project design was completed in August 2005, and site preperation and construction has already begun, with completion expected in the first quarter of 2008. To accommodate the loss of parking spaces and new employees working downtown, 1,700 parking spaces will be built for the center. The construction of an adjacent 5 level parking structure will accomodate 800 parking spaces. The General Assembly has allocated $98.4 million for construction of the facility.
