Description
The building was actually constructed as four seperate structures linked together. First phase was completed in 1979, with the second and thrid buildings completed in 1981. The final structure was completed in 1989. Over 3,000 employees work at the complex.

History:
Originally known as Pennsylvania Blue Cross/Blue Shield, the company merged with Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania in 1997. Capital Blue Cross split away from the group soon after. The Highmark name was aquired to give the healthcare giant a new image. It now operates services in most of the state's 67 counties in conjunction with other providers.
