• The building is featured in scenes from 2005's "Batman Begins" as the Gotham City Courthouse. One scene included Batman perched on one of the turrets rising at the corner of the dome's base.
• The Tower was once known as the Jewelers Building, Pure Oil Building, and North American Life Building.
• 35 East Wacker Drive became a Chicago Landmark on February 9, 1994.
• The building used to house a freight elevator for cars that went up to the 22nd floor. Tenants would drive their car into this elevator and it would take them to their designated floor, this way tenants wouldn't get mugged. By the 1940's the elevators would eventually be abandoned and decked over with office space.
• The dome atop the skyscraper used to house a resturaunt called the Stratosphere Lounge, today its a showroom for architect Helmut Jahn.
• The four large turrets atop the building's main setback used to house cast iron tanks originally intended for fire emergencies. They have since been removed.
