- When the casino opened in 1959, the hotel was called the Sahara Tower.
- The The Tunis Tower had a time and tempature sign on top of the tower from 1959 - 1963 when the 24 story Alexandria Tower was added in 1963, the sign was added to the top of the Alexandria Tower.
