Description Brown Brothers moved to Winston-Salem in 1877 and built this building on Fourth Street around 1890. It is the tallest Second Empire building in North Carolina. An addition was built in 1921 on the back side of the building. This Victorian building was restored and converted to Lofts in 2005.
