Description Architect: Metz, Train & Youngren
Headquarters of the Qwest Communications Corporation. The three Qwest signs, located toward the top of the facade, blazon blue light across downtown Denver at night. Until December, 2004, they were the brightest signs in the world, even brighter than anything in Hong Kong or Shanghai. However, the corporation decided to save money on energy costs and give in to complaints from citizens living in the downtown area, and replaced the lighting with a darker shade of blue.
