Facts & Description:

- Originaly Planned to be Nevada's tallest building at 15 Stories. The Downtown Mint Hotel added another floor to become Nevada's tallest, The Landmark then added 16 more stories to the plan.

- Despite having 31 floors, Landmark was never Nevada's tallest building, the nearby Las Vegas Hilton, also completed in 1969 was the tallest in height. If completed on Schedule the Landmark would have been Nevada's tallest until 1969. The Landmark did have one more floor than the Hilton.

- The design was inspired by Seattle's Space Needle at the Seattle World's Fair.

- Due to several cut backs and financial problems the Tower was not completed until 1968, even though construction started in 1960.

- The Landmark was never popular and eventually closed in 1990. It was Imploded for the Las Vegas Convention Center Parking Lot in 1995.
