Description The White House, while being the home of United States presidents for over 200 years, is still very much a building for the people. Hundreds of thousands visit this center of history and power every year.
As of 2025, there are plans to build the White House State Ballroom, which will be located at the East Wing's site. This 90,000-square-foot (8,360 sqm.) expansion will be a venue for formal events, with a seated capacity of 650 people, according to the official website.
