Description
Architect: Elias Holl

- The most important secular Renaissance building north of the Alps with a impressive ornate interior which was lost to fire during bombardment in 1944 as well the exterior, it was repaired after the war. The interior was restored in time for a 1985 city jubilee.
- The Goldener Saal (golden hall), master piece the construction, features decorative doorways, a richly coffered ceiling and wall paintings.
- It is the masterpiece of "Stadtbaumeister" (city architect) and was an expression of the importance and self-confidence of the free imperial city.
