Description
- Architect: Alexey Shchusev

- Originally opened on December 20, 1935, the hotel was expanded beginning in 1968 to include a 10-story addition on Revolutionary Square, and a 6-story addition on Teatralnaya Square. The expansions were completed in 1977.

- The building was finally shuttered in 2002 and demolished in 2004 to make room for a replica of the hotel with modern amenities.
