Description
Architect: Adam Ballenstedt; Wiktor Zin (reconstruction)

- Work began on the parish church in September 1925, and by the end of 1927 the chancel had been completed. By 1932 both wings were completed, and in 1933 the walls of the rotunda had been set. In 1935 the reinforced concrete dome was set. However, work was stopped during WWII and the building was set afire by retreating German troops on January 13, 1945 which burned for three days. After rubble was cleared, regular church service was resumed in May of that year.

- Work began on finishing the dome in 1966, and the church was officially consecrated in May 1980.

- The church was declared a minor basilica by Pope John Paul II on June 3, 1997.
