• The Palace of Industries is a historic building located in the center of the city.

• The palace designed by Domiziano Rossi, a partner office of Ramos de Azevedo, in the 1920 adoptsan eclectic style, a legacy of the current fashion in Italy at the turn of the century.

• In 1992 it became the seat of mayor of the city, first located next to Ibirapuera Park. At the time this change was proposed to create an annex building to expand the facilities of the municipality and at the same time serve as a pivot for a revitalization of the area surrounding the Park Dom Pedro II. The project, signed by Lina Bo Bardi, was never implemented.

• It was the headquarters of the city of São Paulo by the year 2004, when it was transferred to the Building Matarazzo. Furthermore, it was seat of the Legislative Assembly from 1947 to 1968 and also the Secretariat of Public Security.

• From March 27th, 2009 the building houses the Museum Catavento, a museum dedicated to science.
